I will be able to talk more about my ideas in our individual meeting and as you will see I will not be continuing my same concept or process I started last semester.
However, the idea started in past semesters and I hope to research and push the idea further. As it stands now I am doing initial research and scouting locations. Last semester I had a hard time deciding what I wanted from my images this semester I know how I would like them to look, and have an idea of how to further research the concept that interests me.
For the initial research I am looking into Adolescent Identities, how humans evolve into older humans and how they seem to become more a person at older ages with the gathering of knowledge. With this in mind I did some beginning searching at the library and found three interesting books that I have started 1.) we're friends right?: inside kids' culture. 2.) Adolescent Identities: a collection of readings. 3.) How We Feel: an insight into the emotional world of teenagers.
I hope to gain an insight into a facet of knowledge that I have never really explored. Most all of us have grown out of the Adolescent stage and aside from some bad photos our moms love have we ever really taken a look at what we were thinking, or how about what was the most important thing happening in our life on a particular day? I’m curious to explore the differences in generations, how growing up is different now than 10 or 20 years ago. A lot has changed.
I find research to be one of the most important step in my process but I do not want to get too wrapped up in research and not shoot. I know what I have to do to stay on task.
